The gastronomic tradition of this space dates back to 1835, when there was a small charcoal factory that also served drinks and snacks. São Jorge architecture project, by the duo Laura Palma and Tiago Filipe Santos, honoured the history of the space by preserving the rooms and layout, as well as some of the original materials, such as Estremoz marble and donkey brick. Inside, the tradition of materials lives side by side with the modernity of the industrial environment, and the illustrations of the artist João Serrano.
Close to São Jorge Castle, in the old and traditional hillside, with a privileged view over Lisbon, São Jorge is the place where you can taste Portuguese “petiscos”,
